Team/Department Description

Within MIS, the US Corporate Finance Group (CFG) is responsible for the fundamental credit analysis that underpins the monitoring of existing debt ratings and the assignment of new debt ratings for both public and private non-financial US corporates across a wide range of industries.

Responsibilities

CFG is hiring a Vice President, Senior Analyst who will manage a portfolio of diverse, investment and speculative-grade companies within a specified industry team. This is a high-profile opportunity for someone who is passionate about demonstrating their credit and analytic competence, while engaging with C-suite executives, finance and credit specialists, internally and externally.

What You Will Do In This Role
This is a challenging role where you will be responsible for ensuring ratings accuracy and providing insightful credit analysis. This opportunity involves developing/maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the relevant sectors and issuers. You will articulate robust credit views to the company and the broader marketplace. Your thought leading credit research, along with targeted outreach to the market, will enhance Moody's relevance and expand our brand and reputation as a trusted source of credit insight.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate issuers within a designated industry. Ensure accurate ratings through rigorous and timely credit analysis. Evaluate evolving factors such as liquidity, corporate capital structures, dynamic business conditions and ESG considerations. Present these findings to rating committees on a regular basis.
  • Build rapport with company management teams and engage regularly with investors, intermediaries and the media, communicating critical credit views and demonstrating deep industry and company knowledge.
  • Publish topical, insightful, forward-looking and transparent research reports for rated companies, sector-wide and cross-sector credit themes.
  • Collaborate at all levels within the organization and be responsible for coaching junior associates and developing their credit skills.
  • Manage and foster relationships with the highest level of professional integrity, transparency and fairness.


Qualifications

    • Substantial credit analysis experience including strong technical skills in accounting, financial statement and cash flow-based analysis and relative positioning. Or strong relevant quantitative aptitude with proven analytical skills. Solid understanding of capital structures and debt documentation.
    • Intellectual curiosity, honesty, thoroughness, sound judgment and ability to work independently and in a team, ensuring a free exchange of perspectives in an inclusive, open-minded and diverse environment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels (including C-suite) and represent the Moody's brand credibly and effectively.
    • Diligence, efficiency, responsibility, sense of ownership and ability to meet tight deadlines with high quality outcomes. Adaptable and able to work with different technical tools and teams.
    • Commitment to continually learn and grow, authentic and passionate about caring for and inspiring others, engaging with multi-cultural awareness.
    • Bachelor's degree required and Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant credit and financial analysis experience.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$192,500]] - [[$279,200]], depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
