Job Description Summary
Rutledge Tower Holding room consists of 12 preop bays that serve a diverse adult patient population. Our Registered Nurses prep patients for ambulatory or inpatient surgeries performed within in the Rutledge Tower OR. Our Holding RNs should possess strong critical thinking, IV, and communication skills. Our staff works closely with the OR and PACU staff as well as our surgeons and resident teams to prepare patients for their procedure.Rutledge Tower/Preop is open Monday - Friday, 0530-1700. BLS & ACLS are required.

Job Summary/Purpose: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) reports to the Manager. Under direction of a Registered Nurse, the LPN provides individualized, goal directed and family centered patient care. The LPN demonstrates proficiency according to the Laws governing nursing in South Carolina. This position delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results and outcomes. This position will require the use of the LPN’s skills in multiple physical locations under MUSC Health.
Minimum Training and Education: Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. One year of LPN experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
