Shift Hours:
Full-Time (32 hours/week), Days (variable start between 5:15 am - 8 am); on-call rotations (6-9 weekends per year, 2-3 weekdays/month, and one holiday/year)
Job Description:

Responsible for nursing care under the direct supervision of the Provider/Registered Nurse. Records nursing care given and reports to appropriate person with changes in patient's condition; consults with RN/Provider when uncertain about nursing or medical act; provides basic health instructions and reinforces teaching by other health team members.

Responsible for quality care of gastroenterology patients. Maintains a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Responsible for setting up gastrointestinal (GI) cases along with cleaning and high-level disinfection of endoscopes and accessories. Assists and informs physicians of relevant information. Demonstrates competency, efficiency, and leadership in performing gastrointestinal procedures and in applying new technology. Maintains patient treatment area with a coordinated, efficient schedule and team for emergent and scheduled procedures.

Qualifications:
Completion of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Associate Program within six months of starting in the Gastroenterology Technician role required.

Applicable certification/registration/licensure dependent on requirements in hiring.

Two years of experience in a health care related field or procedural area preferred.
