Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Residency - February 2025
Come and join our LVN Residency Program! We invite graduate LVN's to apply for this unique opportunity. The next cohort will begin on February 24th, 2025.
Integrated into a Hospital's education structure, the Texas Health LVN Residency Program includes a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, informative debriefing/self-care sessions and supportive 360-degree evaluations. Residents not only participate in the learning experience on their personally selected home units, they also rotate/cross train through other departments to gain an expanded nursing experience vital to the complex patient care.
The Texas Health LVN Program is a comprehensive, evidence based on-boarding program with a 15-month employment commitment that offers new LVN's an exciting opportunity to gain the experience, judgment, skills and confidence to successfully navigate the complexity of hospital life.
Where you will be working:
• Work location: Texas Health Frisco, 12400 N. Dallas Parkway, Frisco, Texas,
• Work environment: Surgery Ambulatory
o Patient population: 30-45/day outpatient cases average
o GI, pain, Cath/IR, OR > ortho, OBGyn, bariatric, spine, general, plastics, ENT
o Number of Beds: 30 outpatient rooms
• Work hours: Full-time, (3)-12 hour shifts; Rotating weekends and Holidays
Texas Health Frisco - Texas Health Resources and UT Southwestern Medical Center have collaborated to build a new health care campus in Frisco that includes a hospital, medical office building, parking garage, green space and many amenities, including a walking trail and café. Texas Health Hospital Frisco is a health care campus designed to be a destination for the residents of Frisco and surrounding communities.
Texas Health Frisco Hospital is a 73-bed full-service facility that includes surgical, imaging services, women and children's services. The hospital has a 24-hour emergency department, a neonatal intensive care unit level II, orthopedics, Med-Surg and critical care. Texas Health Frisco has hired over 300+ employees including nursing, surgical, respiratory, imaging, therapy, pharmacy, materials management, patient care techs, quality, risk, engineering, security, and patient access. Additionally, UT Southwestern is planning on bringing the following specialties to the campus: neurosciences, orthopedic surgery, oncology, ENT, and pediatric subspecialties. Things you need for the position:
• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required
• Acceptance into THR residency program required
• Graduated within the last 12 months preferred
• Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred
• Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency preferred
• LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required
