Company Overview

The Licensing Sr. Coordinator will work with Licensing Supervisors and Licensing Specialists to plan, organize, and execute projects. Ensure Dollar General maintains licensing compliance by monitoring state audits, delinquent reports, and project delay summaries. Identifies and suggests process improvements, along with coordinating licensing projects end-to-end across cross-functional teams.

Duties & Responsibilities: What major responsibilities does this position have and what percentage of time is spent on completing them?
  • Lead projects to improve licensing processes by utilizing the experience of coordinating, processing, researching and remitting licensing applications and tax notices, personal property and real property tax payments, and coordinating daily processes and functions with third party law firms dedicated to beer and wine licensing.
  • Assist Licensing Supervisor with various reporting and workflow functions pertinent to tracking, processing, paying, reviewing, coordinating, and collaborating with others groups, both internal and external, as necessary to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all functions, duties, and responsibilities.
  • Acts as an informal Licensing Supervisor, where appropriate, and assists with training of new hires. Provides ongoing training for Licensing Specialists.
  • Assists with and leads special projects as needed, working to identify and implement process improvements using technical tools, collaborating with field leadership, outside vendors, and various teams inside and outside of the Finance organization.

  • Good organizational, Planning, and proactive prioritization skills to meet and maintain stringent deadlines and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to work proficiently with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to interact with government jurisdictions and other departments to obtain relevant information and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a group, and in gray areas to solve challenges.
  • Ability to review data, breakdown critical decision points, and effectively communicate any challenges.
  • Ability to negotiate complex issues with jurisdictions, and other internal departments to find common ground and leverage beneficial outcomes.


Work Experience/Education:
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of licensing experience required.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of general office accounting preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or project management experience a plus.
