POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of your job is to assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, educational/intellectual, cultural, physical, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as directed by your supervisor. You will also function as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. You will return patients to optimal physical function and facilitate achievement of patient, physician, and therapy goals.

Education & Qualifications:

• Must have knowledge of practical application of Life Enrichment skills such as creative expression, music, group leadership, crafts, leisure, etc.
• Activity Professional Certified or higher preferred, but not required (certification is required to complete assessments and MDS independently).
• Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions.
• Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and community staff in the performance of duties.
• Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
• Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.
• Employee must hold an Associate's Degree from an accredited college.
• Must hold a current and valid OTA license granted from the state of employment.

Experience:

• Previous experience in long-term care preferred, but not required.
