Job Summary:

The Radiology Tech performs routine X-ray, medical, and testing procedures under the direct supervision of the treating clinician. This position will also perform routine X-ray examinations per policies, practices, and procedures, and applicable regulations. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one-on-one patient care while thriving in a fast-paced environment. Ensures that every patient is treated with quality clinical care and receives excellent patient experience from welcoming, respectful, and skillful colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completes diagnostic X-rays for patients within the scope of practice for limited-scope X-ray Operator certification.
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to the specification of examination.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure the safety of patients and team members.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order.
  • Keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the visit.
  • Responsible for clerical tasks in both the front and back office associated with patient care and proper record keeping.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Certifications and/or Licenses:
    • BLS-Basic Life support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required.
    • LSO-Limited Scope Operator - CDPHE - Colorado Department of Public Safety Required.


Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical assistant experience.
  • Six months of demonstrated experience in X-Ray and familiarity with routine medical procedures.
  • Prior medical office, healthcare and/or customer service-related experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state-specific).
  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
  • Outstanding customer service skills as well as the ability to deal with people in a manner that shows tact and professionalism.
  • The ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) per federal and state laws and company policies.
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear, and professional manner.
  • Teamwork focus with peers and leadership team; ability to maintain working relationships with all levels of colleagues.
  • Must participate in initial and ongoing training as required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and entry of data into various systems/applications.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $41,630 to $49,341.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
