Job description

Infosys is seeking a Linux Administrator. This position will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design; play an important role in creating the high level design artifacts; deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty; be part of a learning culture, where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued.

Required Qualifications:
Candidate must be located within Richardson, TX or Chicago, IL or be willing to relocate to any of these locations. This position may require travel in the US.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
At least 4 years of experience as Linux Administrator
Demonstrated proficiency using Unix/Shell scripting, Jenkins and Urban Code Deployment.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
Experience with ITSM tools such as Service Now, Lean / Agile development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat.
Proficient in Linux command-line interface (CLI) and shell scripting.
Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware
Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and services, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
Knowledge of storage technologies, such as RAID, SAN, and NAS.
Understanding of security best practices and experience in implementing security measures on Linux systems.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
