Locum Trauma Surgeon *117541: Northcentral, South Carolina
  • Must have an active state license
  • Does the Provider need to prescribe? Yes
  • Is there a state specific CSR that will be needed? Yes must have active SC CSR
  • Certifications required: Board Certified or Board Eligible - Surgical Critical Care and General Surgery
  • Procedures required: Predominantly blunt trauma, penetrating trauma, emergent procedures with general surgery, some ICU bedside procedures (tracheotomy, PEG tube, chest tube, etc.)
  • Credentialing: 30-90 days
  • Tuesday and Fridays will be the locum Trauma call days - locum will not take call the first stretch they are here to allow candidate to get fully comfortable with facility. Candidate will not be on call every night they are here due to how busy call is, it would not be feasible for a surgeon to take this call more than 1 night in a row.
  • Dates: November 11-18, December 23-30
  • Inpatient
  • Schedule: 7 am - 5 pm Trauma coverage Monday - Friday
  • 1 half day of clinic per week for post op follow ups with 20-25 patients
  • Call Schedule: Participate in 1:9 24 hour call rotation - weekend rotation is either Thursday, Saturday or Friday, Sunday
  • Inpatient
  • EPIC EMR
  • Adult and Pediatric trauma comfort required. Pediatric age range generally 8-15, mostly 13-15 within that range
  • Level 2 trauma center, but operate as a level 1-Candidate must be comfortable with this
