SAIC is seeking a Logistics Advisor and Planner. The ideal candidate will be a retired senior enlisted or enlisted airman with experience achieving operational objectives while balancing Special Access Program (SAP) security requirements. This position will join an existing team of dedicated Subject Matter Experts supporting Air Combat Command's Advanced Programs Division (ACC A5/8Z). This team of specialized professionals works with Combatant Commanders, Air Staff, program offices, industry, and other organizations to define the systems required to defeat our nation's adversaries. A5/8Z is responsible for nearly all weapons employed by the United States Air Force and is central to the development of the cutting edge, highly classified technologies required to employ them. This position is located at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA. The position will require CONUS / OCONUS travel.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical focal point for supporting logistics integration for Special Access Programs in ACC/A5/8Z
- Provide logistics advice and assistance in the areas of concept of development, requirements, and support planning
- Regularly interface with the Joint Staff, Air Staff, MAJCOMs, NAFs, OSD, and other Government organizations when performing duties associated with ACC/A5/8Z
- Provide advice and assistance to leadership in budget planning and programming, test and validation of support equipment, and technical data for multiple SAP Programs
- Provide advice in developing guidance on handling and transportation activities including rapid and secure movement of critical assets for test, training, and combat operations
- Support ACC/A5/8Z mission as CAF lead for multiple SAPs with site activation working groups, identification and disposition of munitions, service life limitations, and inventory recommendations
- Plan, coordinate, and attend ACC/A5/8Z functions and conferences - approximately twenty (20) per year
- Represent ACC/A5/8Z at CAF requirements meeting and other SAP planning meetings
- Position requires up to 40% travel to Continental United States (CONUS)/Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) areas
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree and fifteen (15) years experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years of experience
- Additional years of experience or an Associates degree will be accepted
- Level 1 Acquisition Logistics Certificate from Defense Acquisition University
- Four (4) years of SAP experience
- TS/SCI required
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Polygraph required to maintain employment
- US citizenship required
- Strong background in military logistics operations
- Experience with air-to-air / air-to-ground weapons
- Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent research skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in 5th Gen fighters or ability to demonstrate a good working knowledge of their capabilities
