Job Summary:

The Logistics Manager will be responsible for organizing the transportation of the goods. The logistic manager will bring innovative approaches to the procurement logistics plan, including Transportation plans, ensuring value and strong partnerships with suppliers, and pushing the boundaries of traditional methodologies. This role requires agility and the ability to influence and shape suppliers to meet the demands of dynamic construction projects and provides the project team with a clear overview of all material movements through site delivery. This position reports to the Procurement Manager, and it is part of the Procurement Department.

Primary Duties:
  • Responsible for ensuring the materials and equipment are delivered on schedule and to the correct destination
  • Establishing and managing incoming and outbound shipping schedules
  • Managing the flow of resources, incoming and outbound shipping schedules
  • Managing the transportation of goods throughout the company
  • Responsible for negotiating with goods carriers about shipment costs
  • Collaborate with different divisions within the company to enhance logistic
  • Responsible for moving and transporting goods efficiently and cost-effectively and within the schedule
  • Knowledge of the CTPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism)
  • Knowledge of INCOTERMS
  • Oversees daily logistics activities, including national and international shipments and tracking the import and export shipments
  • Ensure that all shipments offered for carriage comply with the domestic and international regulations
  • Develop logistics strategies to optimize supply chain operations
  • Manage logistics data such as transportation costs, shipping schedules, and delivery lead time.
  • Responsible for shipping instructions
  • Identify wide or oversized loads, storage requirements, and crane loading/unloading.
  • Identify road bans, permits and lift details
  • Ensures that the project team is informed in advance of any hazardous goods shipments (by a copy of MSDs) and any wide load/heavy lift shipments to ensure that site personnel follow safety rules concerning unloading, handling, transporting, lifting storage, and loading activities.
  • Issues draft IRC documents and Release Notes to Suppliers as and when items are ready for shipment
  • Issues Requests for Transport (RFTs) to the nominated Logistics Services provider for any materials or equipment purchased on an 'Ex Works' basis and maintains interface with the Logistics Services provider until items are delivered to the project or other point of delivery.
  • Maintains forecast and actual transportation and delivery dates.
  • Assists with disposal or transfer of surplus on project completion.
  • Maintenance of materials logistics movement & storage location.
  • Manage assigned resources and work within the agreed schedule.
  • Responsible for Logistics activities up to receipt of materials at the point of delivery.
  • Responsible for coordinating and administering all Logistics activities between Suppliers' Works/Supply Hub and the project to ensure seamless delivery of project materials to the site.
  • Review the Project material and equipment shipping data from Suppliers to develop and coordinate requirements for special transport and site access for dimensionally abnormal loads and fragile or hazardous goods.
  • Coordinates import customs clearances with the nominated Project Logistics Services provider before vessels arrive at ports of discharge.
  • As appropriate, assists in resolving over-, Short-, and Damaged (OSD) reports with Logistics or transport companies.
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking for logistics categories, creating should-cost models and shipping strategies.
  • Analyze supplier performance using key metrics, drive continuous improvement, and manage supplier negotiations for cost reduction opportunities.
  • Collaborate with legal departments to draft and manage logistics contracts, ensuring supplier adherence to contract obligations.
  • Lead transportation cost reduction projects, track budgets, and forecast spend and savings by project/commodity/business.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of work experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of work experience, specifically in industrial EPC supply chain management in a construction environment.

Requirements:
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SQL, PowerBI, and other relevant software.
  • Familiarity with ISO Standards and a proven track record of managing procurement processes effectively.
  • Fluency in multiple languages is a bonus.
