Meta is seeking a Site Logistics Operations Specialist to focus on Data Center logistics operations, performance, and improvement. This person will be a key part of a Data Center logistics team and will support the Data Center team to develop and implement consistent, safe, and secure processes. This position requires communication skills, collaboration, a natural orientation to process analysis and optimization, the understanding of logistics processes and systems, and experience with utilizing data for project management and process improvement.

Logistics Operations Specialist Responsibilities


  • Develop, refine, and maintain documentation that captures and distributes the processes and policies for executing safe, effective logistics operations in Meta data centers.

  • Identify gaps in operations and present solutions to standardize operations across the data center regions: partner in developing shared solutions when inconsistencies are identified.

  • Help produce monthly audit of compliance to ensure the meeting of all inventory controls.

  • Support month/quarter and year-end requirements to ensure appropriate financial reporting.

  • Enable and support team members and leaders to understand business requirements, implement new processes and contribute to ongoing process improvements.

  • Drive inventory reconciliation process to identify risk, manage obsolescence, and correct errors impacting product movement.

  • Support improving operational and system gaps from the various warehouse and vendor entities to meet all compliance requirements.

  • Raise the visibility of field issues that require better systemic controls to central logistics for the development of improved processes.

  • Work with field leads, vendors and contract labor to develop and execute action plans in the implementation of these new processes.

  • Develop a dynamic logistics operations assessment program to ensure consistent implementation and sustainment of processes across all field entities.

  • Generating actionable insights through the development of metrics, dashboards and deep dive analyses.

  • Acting as key interface between field operations team and systems technical divisions.

  • Use analytical insights to solve important business problems and formulate robust, actionable recommendations for leadership.

  • Utilize excellent communication skills to clearly distill the essence of your technical work to audiences of all levels and across multiple functional areas.

  • Leverage data and business principles to create and drive large scale FB Data Center programs.

  • Be a self-starter, motivated by a passion for developing the best possible solutions to problems.

  • Identify and implement streamlined processes for data reporting and communication.

  • Lead and support various ad hoc projects, as needed, in support of Facebook's Data Center strategy.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment

  • Currently has, or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in supply chain, operations management, business management and/or any other business-related field

  • Experience working independently, prioritizing, and managing one's time

  • Communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills

  • Logistics Operations process understanding, familiarity with Supply Chain and Inventory management models

  • Experience understanding how to interpret data and performance results in a business context

  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis, data presentation and problem-solving

  • Experience dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications


  • 1+ years of experience in logistics operations, analytics, business analysis or comparable analytics position

  • Comfortable with SQL, ERP or data visualization tools

  • Experience in business analysis/program management

  • Skills in as-is/to-be business process mapping, gap analysis, requirements elicitation and data analysis
