Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

Key job responsibilities

-\tSupport warehousing and transportation activities involving the Payload Processing Facility (PPF) and affiliated sites

-\tPartner with peers across the organization to ensure your warehousing and receiving processes align with and are standardized with other Kuiper organizational stakeholders

-\tUpdate inventory management systems, audit against expected inventory levels, identify and correct anomalies within all systems and processes

-\tUpdate dashboards and systems to ensure timely and accurate reporting

-\tLead and manage a team of Transportation personnel directly supporting PPF (inbound/outbound, shipping/receiving, inventory and warehousing)

-\tProvide field support for launch activities when needed

-\tReview yard operations metrics (On-Time %, Vehicle Down %, etc.) to identify and eliminate waste

-\tCoordinate and receive shipments involving 3rd party suppliers

-\tCoordinate trailer or container movements within the PPF Yard

-\tEnsure PPF fleet vehicles are inspected, and support facility personnel in coordinating maintenance activities as directed

-\tSupport all Amazon/Kuiper safety programs, to ensure best practices are maintained to ensure a safe site for all staff

-\tEnsure all operations at the site are compliant with US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to include CFR Title 49 - Hazardous Materials Transportation Regulations

-\tInterface with PPF personnel and ensure material flow is planned and executed to avoid delay

-\tMaintain schedule to ensure sufficient staffing to meet PPF demand planning, up to 3 shifts 24/7/366

-\tAdjust working shift and schedule to maintain effective supervision of personnel and support of all warehousing activities.

-\tRole requires up to 25% domestic and international travel to support PPF activities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

-\t2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, fulfillment, warehousing, planning or operations

-\t2+ years of team management experience

-\t2+ year(s) of process development/improvement experience

-\t2+ year(s) of developing, tracking, and reporting metrics

-\tWork a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

-\tRelevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment

-\tAbility to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks

-\tValid Driver's license and able to satisfy Amazon driver eligibility criteria

-\tAbility to obtain and maintain a US Passport

-\tAbility and willingness to comply with the Government of French Guiana which mandates that travelers receive vaccinations for yellow fever or applicable government exemption

-\tWith or without reasonable accommodations, must be able to lift up to 49 pounds on some occasions, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours (with breaks), and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
