The LPN shall be responsible for direct, individualized, goal-directed, and effective patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. This individual shall provide care as outlined in the Nursing Care Plan in accordance with Standards of Practice and Baptist Health .
The Neuroscience acute care floor is a 33-bed unit, with a 4:1 patient/nurse ratio, with a primary focus on the care of acute Stroke patients and those with other Neurological diagnosis. Our facility is TJC accredited as a Primary Stroke Center. Staff are cross trained for the continuous Epilepsy Monitoring Program. Staff strive to maintain a positive work environment evidenced by their teamwork and organization of their Unit Practice Council. Our Neurologists are highly involved in the development of our nurses and conduct educational classes weekly on the unit. Our Neuroscience Nurse Mentor is available to assist with the transition of new staff members.Description

• Completion of an accredited LPN course. License / Certification: Active Alabama LPN license required or will have license by start date.
• BLS required.
