Schedule: Full Time Nights

Shift : 7:00pm-7:00am

The role you'll contribute:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the provision of nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients under the supervision/direction of the Registered Nurse. The LPN assists with implementation and administration of the nursing process relative to the medical and nursing plan of care. The LPN uses the nursing skills of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in their patient care delivery. Primary function is the delivery of competent, compassionate and cost-effective nursing care. This performance is in compliance with established policies, procedures and protocols under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

The LPN demonstrates collaborative and professional communication skills and a commitment to professional accountability and growth. The LPN strives to advance from novice to expert and become an evidence-based scholar in order to provide optimal patient care and advocate on behalf of his/her patients. The LPN serves as a role model for the mission, vision and values of AdventHealth Hendersonville. S/he is accountable for working within the parameters of the North Carolina Nursing Practice Act and North Carolina Administrative Code (Rules), all regulatory standards and established policies, protocols and procedures.

  • Assure patient safety by adhering to established policies and procedures and utilizing patient safety resources such as mPPID, fall prevention and safe patient handling strategies
  • Implement a plan of care ad determined by the Registered Nurse and collaborate to revise plan as patient progresses
  • Demonstrates effective delegation skills to unlicensed associates
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize nursing interventions based on patient needs and in conjunction with unit activities and resources available.
  • Actively participate in bedside shift report, safety huddles, multidisciplinary patient rounds and hourly rounding to gather all information necessary to care for my patients, anticipate their needs and provide for a smooth hand-off to other members of the health care team.
  • Provide individualized patient education plan based on assessed learning needs, education level, language spoken and level of understanding.
  • Document all pertinent information (health history, assessment, test results, teaching and patient response) in a timely manner according to departmental policy.


Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
  • State or compact Licensure as a Practical Nurse
  • BLS obtained through the American Heart Association

Preferred:

• Recent Inpatient LPN experience
