The Wisconsin DNR is hiring an LTE (Limited Term Employee) Program and Policy Analyst/ Associate Forestry Planner in the Division of Forestry (statewide).

This position will periodically require travel throughout the state, including some overnight travel.

This recruitment may be used to fill similar positions in the future.

Position Summary

This position serves as an Associate Planner, working under the guidance of the Division of Forestry Planner. This position will assist in facilitating, communicating, and documenting significant aspects of the division's Strategic Direction, State Forest Action Plan, and in facilitating and implementing various work planning and program review processes. This position will periodically require travel throughout the state, including some overnight travel.

40% Planning and Implementation of the Strategic Plans and Program Reviews- Assist the Division Planner in developing and maintaining planning tools, processes, and procedures for the Division of Forestry's Strategic Direction, State Forest Action Plan, and division program reviews. Manage and analyze large datasets. Coordinate, schedule meetings, and assist in facilitating diverse teams of technical experts to best deliver strategic outcomes.

35% Evaluation and Performance Monitoring- Research and assist in managing and implementing mechanisms for monitoring performance on implementation of strategic plans. Develop materials for reporting out to the Forestry Division leadership and interested partners and publics. Assist in the development and integration of performance measures and performance monitoring at all program levels. Coordinate and manage accomplishment reporting and development of accomplishment reporting systems.

25% Communications and Document Preparation- Coordinate communications regarding forestry issues and management systems updates to staff and Forestry Division leadership. Write and help prepare planning documents which include sensitive and complex forestry issues in the context of strategic planning and program accountability. Manage and coordinate writing assignments for staff specialists. Set up meetings, plan agendas, and assist in designing meeting materials.

Salary Information

This position pays between $22.00-24.00 per hour and is in pay schedule and range 07-04. Compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position. LTE positions do not automatically lead to permanent state employment or enjoy the same benefits as permanent employees; however, these positions do offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin.

LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours per position within a twelve-month period.

Qualifications

In addition to the required qualifications below, the selected candidate must be eligible to drive a state vehicle and meet the following criteria:

- Have a valid driver's license

- Be at least 18 years of age

- Have a minimum of two years of licensed driving experience

- Have not had three (3) or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the past two (2) years

- Have no OWI/DUI violations within the past year

Qualified applicants will have the following:

- Experience in a project management role

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Strong organizational and communication skills

- Data analysis and evaluation experience

- Project facilitation experience
