The LU Stages Student Event Assistant helps the LU Stages staff with many of the behind-the-scenes aspects of guest hospitality and event logistics for campus events such as Convocation and Campus Community. Student Event Assistants are expected to work primarily on Wednesdays and Fridays during these events, as well as at least one shift of office hours per week.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Works quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

2. Assists with a variety of event-related tasks including, but not limited to, Green Room set-up/tear-down, VIP seat management, office organizing/cleaning, guest hospitality, and errand running.

3. Demonstrates a personable, respectful, and welcoming attitude towards all LU staff and university guests.

4. Remains abreast of existing & emerging technologies, processes, products, services, & leading industry performance benchmarks.

5. Works effectively as a team member, embracing & fostering LU's mission.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Team player.

2. Ability to work independently.

3. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

4. Detail-oriented.

5. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Previous event planning, hospitality, or service industry experience.

2. Significant availability on Wednesdays and Fridays is preferred.
