Machine Learning Engineer

Summary
The Video Computer Vision organization is working on exciting technologies for future Apple products. Our focus is on ML based solution around real time image and video. We have contributed to the FaceID in the past and more recently RoomPlan framework with the LIDAR sensors. As part of Spatial Perception Team (SPT) we focus on scene understanding. We are developing 2D and 3D deep learning technologies that will help bring the 3D world into your devices utilizing our powerful LiDAR along with other sensors.
In this role, you will develop new technologies in the area of scene understanding and reasoning for Apple's next generation products. The focus will be developing complex 3D computer vision algorithms on real world applications, building end-to-end pipelines for fast model evaluation, and understanding model performances.
Key Qualifications
Extensive knowledge in machine learning and deep learning techniques. Experiences in training and evaluating neural networks.
Solid computer vision background and familiar with fundamental recognition tasks like classification, detection, segmentation, etc.
Strong coding skills in python. C++ is a plus.
Experience in visualizing data and results
Creativity and curiosity for solving highly complex problems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Video Computer Vision org at Apple is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to help push the boundaries of 3D computer vision technologies. You will join a team of highly accomplished and deeply technical engineers and researchers. You will work with real-world data and a highly complex machine learning system. We provide the right balance between research and product to deliver Apple quality state-of-the-art experiences on various Apple devices.
Your key responsibilities in this role are:
Developing computer vision neural networks and algorithms including training, evaluation and failure analysis
Developing end-to-end pipeline and metrics for fast model evaluation and iterations.
Collaborating with multiple algorithm engineers to understand and analyze algorithm issues
Work cross functionally to deliver computer vision algorithms on device including labeling, QA, implementation teams
Education & Experience
MS with 3+ years industry experience or PhD in computer science or related fields with a focus on machine learning and computer vision
