The Push Notification team is responsible for TikTok notification sending strategies and algorithms for both in-app, out of app, and inbox page notifications. Our team is one of the core teams that contribute most significantly to the growth of TikTok active users. Every day, tens of millions of users open the TikTok platform through these push notifications and accessing content they find interesting and valuable. Your contribution to the team will have the opportunity to directly reach hundreds of millions of users on TikTok.
We aim to build the world-leading push system, developing cutting-edge push technology and providing users with the most relevant content at the most appropriate time and thus creating a solid user base and create long-term value for TikTok.

This Internship Program runs for 10-24 weeks. Candidates can also apply for both Off-cycle Intern position and Program Intern position.

Responsibilities-
Optimize push notification timing strategies and models, enhancing the system's time and frequency selection capabilities using Reinforcement Learning, Deep Time-Series models, etc., to improve user experience and relevant metrics.
Apply mainstream and cutting-edge machine learning models, such as DeepFM, Uplift model, Deep Retrieval, DIN, etc., for the optimization of recall, pre-ranking, ranking models. This includes optimizing model structure, feature engineering, and model performance.
Build industry-leading push systems, including strategies, models based on massive data, better user interest modeling and enhance user experience.
Support several vertical businesses, such as social push, live-stream push, trending push, etc., collaborating with product and operations teams to develop push notification strategies and enhance the contribution of push notifications to different vertical businesses.
Optimize push content creativity, including auto-generation and optimal selection of copy, images, and other elements.

Qualifications

1. BS/MS degree or equivalent work experience required
2. Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2024
3. Graduating December 2024 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship
4. Strong coding skills with a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms.
5. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
