Job Description

The Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home is a 228 bed skilled nursing home and rehabilitation center. .We are currently seeking a Machine Waxer/Porter for animmediate P/T shift opportunity. Must be available to work every other weekend.
    • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining carpet and hard surface floors.
    • Operating commercial stripping, scrubbing, and buffing machines to wax, refinish, seal and spot clean floors.
    • Maintaining, organizing, and storing cleaning equipment in a safe organized manner.
    • Disinfecting and cleaning floors, walls, furniture, and fixtures.
    • Cleaning spills, picking up trash and correcting other housekeeping and safety-related issues as needed.
    • Utilizing proper Infection Control procedures to clean and remove medical, waste, blood, and body spills.
    • Performing various general custodial duties as needed.


Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent degree
  • Must have current or recent housekeeping/floor care experience
  • Ability to lift and move moderate to heavy objects.
  • Effective oral and written English communication skills
  • Previous cleaning experience preferred
  • Excellent Customer Skills required
  • MUST be available to work P/T SHIFT including every weekend and Holiday.


SALARY

SALARY: $22.96/hr. - $23.49/hr.
