Summary
Manual and CNC machining Setup. The scope of this role will include setups for Mills, Lathes, and CNCs so other operators can run quality parts and machining the more complicated jobs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assures policies, procedures and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant manufactured product.
• Reading calipers, micrometers and other measurement instruments.
• Drill selection, depth tapping blind holes and broken tap removal.
• Mill and Lathe operation, vertical & horizontal bandsaw use.
• Small lathe, turret lathe and engine lathe use.
• CNC Setup
• Machining Stainless Steel, Brass, and Copper.
• Ability to setup machine and indicate parts to determine proper alignment.
• Ability to read drawings; including GD&T.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative problem solving.
• Design and fabricate fixtures and tools based on a given set of constraints.
• Ability to estimate the hours required for machining and fabrication of tools.
• Sets up mill, lathe, and other machines; including zero and reference points; setting tool offsets, including basic math.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Apart of 6S culture by maintaining the cleanliness, safety and organization of the work area.
• Must clock 100% of time on site in time tracking software
• Regular, predictable attendance is required.
• Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.
• Additional work as necessary by the business.

Education and/or Experience
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 years of manual machining experience.
Knowledge/Skills
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and tool sets as they relate to production processes and improvements.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
• Must be willing to undergo vision testing depending on customer requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
• Machining trade school certificate.
