Machinist II

Akkodis is seeking a Machinist II for a Contract job with a client in Arden Hills MN Ideally looking for someone who has medical device manufacturing industry experience.

The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Essential Job Functions

• Review job packages by reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, or drawings to identify design impracticalities and begin to formulate the production process.
• Clarifies design feasibility issues with engineers to ensure parts are machined to meet specifications.
• Determines sequence of operation, number and type of cuts required, and method of set-up.
• Prepares parts for machining, programs computer and milling machines, and operates a variety of manual and automatic machines.

• Monitors parts through production by visual observation and referencing blueprints to ensure products meet specifications.

• Performs preventative maintenance tasks on machines.

• Repairs malfunctioning shop equipment and machines.

Quality System Requirements

• All actions demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

Required Experience

• HS Degree or equivalent is required.
• Trade school degree preferred, with 2+ years of experience.
• Without a trade school degree, will require 5 years of experience.
• Experience running Cincom Citizen Swiss (L12, L20, or C16) machines or experience running Makino, Robodrill, Kitamura, or Haas Mills.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints.

Pay Details: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
