LaSalle Network is partnered with a technology solutions company that is looking for a Mainframe Systems Programmer Consultant to join their team. The ideal candidate will come in and support ongoing projects which include installation, testing and implementation of new OS and system software. This is a contract opportunity and is fully remote. We support W2, 1099 and C2C.

Mainframe Systems Programmer Consultant Responsibilities:

• Manage low complexity assignments and provide oversight
• Work directly with hardware and software vendors on new solutions
• Analyze client software and requirements to determine cost-effective solutions
• Provide problem analysis, resolution and prevention documentation
• Configure z/OS components, customize PARMLIB and JES2 and implement changes in z/OS environments
• Possess in-depth knowledge of TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL and other related software

Mainframe Systems Programmer Consultant Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in managing a mainframe environment within a large enterprise
• Experience installing and configuring ZMFA
• Advanced knowledge of z/OS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL and Unix System Services (USS)
• Experience installing software within USS
• Ability to work well in a team environment and handle stressful situations
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong planning, organizational and learning abilities
• Knowledgeable in z/OS security and systems programming functions preferred
• Experience with DB2, CICS, IMS, Parallel sysplex, Catalog management and REXX a plus
• Familiarity with z/OS HW, LPAR, HMC and Dynamic Workload Console a plus
