Summary:

Installs, maintains, and repairs industrial assembly equipment including but not restricted to pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Troubleshoots issues both physically and electronically via PLC or program investigation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair production equipment for a safe and productive work environment., Including, but not restricted to:
    • Mechanical
    • Pneumatic
    • Electrical
    • Hydraulic
    • PLC
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) to maintain safety and increase up-time of equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand:
    • Machine blue prints (2D and 3D)
    • Electrical Schematics/Wiring Diagrams
    • Hydraulic Schematics
    • Pneumatic Schematics/Valve Drawings
  • Make recommendations for spare parts requirements and equipment improvements.
  • Work on process support equipment improvement projects directed by the Manufacturing Engineering Dept.
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations provided by the company and government.
  • Participate and contribute in a team environment by working with all levels of associates and coworkers.
  • Document all corrective and preventive maintenance performed throughout the course of the day in SAP.
  • Perform all required duties and communicate information within shift overlap procedure.
  • Adhere to all housekeeping SOP`s in and around work area including 6S standards.
  • Work in accordance to all TS-16949 and ISO 14001 standards within assigned work area.
  • Reorders items and materials at appropriate points based upon historical analysis of usage and forward planning based upon scheduled activities. Ensures an in-stock condition of all routine usage items and materials thru reorder points.
  • Obtains quotes for new maintenance requirements, utilizing approved purchasing quotation practices. Performs like activities for MRO repair services within the facility.
  • Maintains tool crib business activities to include, goods received, issued and reordered. Responsible for physical security, orderliness, and appearance of tool crib. Locates and periodically inventories assets of tool crib for easy identification and audit.
  • Maintains timely two-way communication with vendors, relaying appropriate information internally as required.
  • Recommends changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to MRO and SAP systems.
  • Maintains schematics, prints, and manuals regarding equipment repair or vendor services.
  • Analyzes written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to plan for future maintenance support needs.
  • Operates powered equipment in compliance with federal, state, and internal company mandates.
  • Assists maintenance technicians in non-skilled activities as required.
  • Create and edit as needed auto generated orders based on data.
  • Distribute and schedule work to be completed by team members based on skill set, timing, and continued desire to grow.
  • Predict amount of time and tools needed to complete a task.
  • Collect/ gather all needed tools and supplies for job prior to scheduled completion time.
  • Ensures compliance and safety of all activities within the organization policies.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • 3 years of prior experience repairing and peforming maintenance on manufacturing machinery and in trouble shooting, electronics 12VDC-460 VAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, motor starters, pumps and PLC controls.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Experience with PLC controllers, including but not restricted to:
    • Siemens
    • Rockwell/Allen Bradley
  • Ability to read and understand:
    • Machine blue prints (2D and 3D)
    • Electrical Schematics/Wiring Diagrams
    • Hydraulic Schematics
    • Pneumatic Schematics/Valve Drawings
  • Experience in forecasting, demand planning, scheduling, and inventory management tools and concepts necessary to analyze optimal placement of materials required.
  • Experience working effectively with customers to clarify requirements and negotiate solutions when constraints exist.
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with large ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Demonstrates a strong customer focus along with a great work ethic and willingness to do what needs to be done (without taking shortcuts.)

Education:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. and be able to read, write, and speak in English.

Computer skills and knowledge of hardware & software required:
  • Excel and Microsoft Word experience
  • Navigating folder structures within the network to locate files without shortcuts

    • SIMATIC
    • TIA Portal
