This is an hourly position starting at $27.59
The kitchen mechanic is responsible for the daily maintenance and repairs for all kitchen, restaurant and bar equipment to include but not limited to stoves, dishwashers, ice machines, deep fryers and walk-in, reach-in coolers. Perform Preventive Maintenance as assigned or required while keeping system downtime to a minimum.
Conduct daily Preventive Maintenance (PM) on all kitchen, restaurant and bar equipment. Perform any necessary repairs in a timely manner as to reduce downtime. Track all associated inventory and maintain established inventory levels. Complete all required reports on equipment history to include all cost associated with any repair or PM. Conduct all equipment walk-throughs, reading and logs as requested by Engineering management. These must be kept in an organized location as designated by Engineering management. Assist with the development and implementation of a Refrigeration Usage Log and keep it current. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of assigned shops, mechanical areas, tool carts and tools.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
OSHA laws require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have a potential of risk to your health or safety. The following is a list of some of the devices required. This is only a sample list and is not to be all-inclusive do to the nature of the work conductive to the Engineering Department.
• Protective gloves, eye protection, breathing protection, hearing protection, lock-out/tag-out protection and any other equipment as necessary to provide a safe working environment.
All work duties conducted by Engineering personal will be evaluated and regular scheduled training and refresher training will be conducted as required by law. Associates will be trained as to the use and care of any and all required PPE equipment. The hotel provides this required PPE and it is the responsibility of engineer to wear this equipment as it relates to daily work assignments. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE to your Manager.
• Follow all Safety Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications:
• Must have previous experience in good electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Able to read blueprints, wiring schematics and technical manuals.
• Ability to read and write the English language fluently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the public and other colleagues.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Energy Management System.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction.
• Technical training in kitchens HVAC, electrical or building maintenance preferred.
• At least 2 years as a Kitchen technician in the hospitality or service industry.
• Must be EPA certified with at least Type II or better.
• Valid drivers’ license.
• Applicants with additional language skills a plus.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
May be required to work any shift as deemed necessary by management.
The hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
