ARIZONA GENERAL HOSPITAL

Responsibilities

Leads the daily performance of staff engineers. Responsible for maintaining, installing and replacing hospital equipment as directed on work requests. Provides support for other maintenance personnel as required. Performs routine maintenance on following systems: Plumbing, Electrical, Patient Beds, HVAC, and Refrigeration. Lead duties to include training and orientation of new hires and other staff on a continual basis.
  • Assists with leading the daily performance of staff engineers.
  • Trains personnel in their general specific duties and special systems.
  • Assigns work requisitions and preventive maintenance work orders to personnel.
  • Performs major corrective maintenance and adjustment on the following systems: Refrigeration, Ice Machines, HVAC (Chillers, Air Handler, and Cooling Towers), Pneumatic and Electromechanical Controls, High and Low Pressure Boilers, Sterilizers, Pumps and Motors.
  • Performs routine maintenance on the following system: Plumbing, Electrical, Patient Beds, Nurse Call and Fire Prevention Equipment.
  • Assists Supervisor and Manager of Plant Maintenance in improving department processes.
  • Improve timekeeping compliance: Time cards are signed each pay period and incremental overtime is kept to a minimum.


Qualifications

Minimum:
  • Specialized training and/or experience in three or more of the following areas: Refrigeration certification, HVAC (Chillers, Air Handlers, Cooling Towers), Pneumatic or Electromechanical Controls, Boilers, Water Treatment, Plumbing, Electrical and/or Sterilizers.
  • Ability to interpret and use blue prints, schematics, and other technical drawings.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.


Preferred:
  • Preferred Licensure includes: Certified in HVAC; Licensed Plumber; Licensed Electrician.
  • Knowledge and ability to locate repair parts, repair or correct identified non-functional system or systems related to failure or failures pertaining to the following equipment or systems within a reasonable and acceptable time: Boiler systems and related equipment. HVAC systems and related equipment. Water distribution systems. Fire alarm systems. Electrical distribution systems.
  • Understand and operate environmental building control systems. Interpret and use blue prints hospital and medical office building, schematics, and other technical drawings.
  • Advanced knowledge of the tools and test equipment associated with the repair and servicing of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment.
