Your role and responsibilities

Location: Columbus Manufacturing Plant- Columbus, MS Job Grade: Hourly - Maintenance General Information: Pay Range: $25.10 - $33.21 - (based on a progression pay scale) Shift Premium: $.15 for 2nd shift & $.20 for 3rd shift Responsibilities: • Troubleshoot & repair machine electrical/electronics. • Operate all machine electrical tools. Interpret electrical schematics and prints. • Complete knowledge of electronic principles as they apply to industrial machinery and controls which would enable diagnosing problems and repairing servo-motors, electronic controls, processors, and other similar equipment. • Must be knowledgeable of how to locate information to enable repair of new equipment. • Ensures the maintenance shop area is organized, neat and clean. Identifies and acts immediately regarding any safety hazards, spills, etc. to avoid the risk of accidents. Uses safe lifting techniques and operates power equipment in a safe manner. Abide by all stated regulations while performing work, i.e., lockout/tag out procedures, etc. Maintains records to ensure accountability of time, parts and repairs. • Performs preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to maintain equipment • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates. • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment such as diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, and coils. • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps. • Place safety in the workplace above all else • Work closely with machine operators • Work any overtime • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications for the role

  • Education and Experience Needed:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Industrial Maintenance or similar type Associate's degree or in lieu of degree 2 years' related experience in maintenance and/or education
  • 3+ years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of industrial electrical application, pneumatics, hydraulics and control systems
  • PLC troubleshooting and controls experience/knowledge highly desired.
  • Knowledge of the fundamental of industrial electrical application, pneumatics, and control systems highly desired.
  • Specialized skills or other requirements:
  • Professional written and oral skills are essential
  • Ability to read prints and technical manuals.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot and repair heavy machinery.
  • Advanced understanding of Machine operations and diagnostics.
  • Ability to effectively diagnose machine malfunctions and concisely communicate detailed root cause(s) of malfunctions.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and manage multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Adaptable to change and ability to cross-train.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Must be willing to attend classes for additional job-related training.
