Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings):

Major Account Executive

Create and maximize revenue generation within Akamai's most important customers in emerging HCLS markets. Take ownership of revenue plan to grow existing customer base through identifying and selling additional services. Identify, develop, and close new business with prospective Akamai customers through successful engagements and relationship building. Deliver joint value proposition through in-person meetings, conference calls, sales activities, trainings and other events. Act as a trusted advisor to our customers and leading the integrated account team to deliver success. Champion and maintain trusted high-level relationships with customers and field teams through business understanding and knowledge. Manage escalations, compliance cadence, knowledge management, and process improvements. Coordinate a cross-disciplinary team of Sales, Marketing, and business development to drive market penetration efforts. 20% domestic travel required. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the United States.[AG0817]

Required Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Telecommunications, and 5 years of experience in the job offered or closely related technical sales role.

Alternatively, will accept no degree with 8 years of experience in the job offered or closely related technical sales role.

Must Have: five (5) years of experience with the following: managing implementation of technical services; ensuring utilization of contracted services; managing technical sales cycle from end-to-end including pre-sales, consulting, and account management; delivering customized technical solutions and optimized website performance, uptime, scale, and security; and working with clients in the E-commerce, financial services/technology, or healthcare industries.

Compensation:

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $141773-$300120/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
