Aspirus Health in Wausau, WI. is seeking a Major Gifts Officer - Aspirus Health Foundation to join our team!

The full-time Major Gifts Officer (MGO) is responsible for systematically identifying, qualifying, and managing a pool of 100-150 leadership giving prospects, and successfully soliciting major and/or planned gifts. The MGO will collaborate with other members of the development team, the Vice President of System Philanthropy, Board of Directors, and system leadership to support Aspirus Health in its efforts to provide high quality healthcare in the communities it serves.

HOURS: Full-Time 1.0 FTE, 80 hours biweekly

Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Five to seven years progressive work experience related to frontline major or planned giving fundraising.
  • Demonstrated experience in cultivating and soliciting prospects capable of five- and six-figure gifts.
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) preferred.
  • Proven track record of building donor engagement, closing gifts in the five-, six- and seven- figure range and upgrading donors. Healthcare fundraising experience preferred.
  • Experience in planned giving and major gift capital campaigns preferred.
  • Creativity and an ability to inspire performance and donor engagement.
  • Ability to identify gift opportunities that match donor interests and support system needs, develop written proposals and other donor communications.
  • A high degree of professionalism and a level of ethics in all activities and the ability to maintain client and donor confidentiality.
  • Some travel and valid Wisconsin driver's license is required.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Proficiency in donor database utilization (ie Bloomerang, Donor Perfect or Raiser's Edge) highly preferred.
  • Strong customer relations and excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with public speaking.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members, internal customers, high-level staff, and external supporters.
  • This position is an on-site role. Candidates must be available to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.
