Responsibilities

Mammography technologist will provide patient services using various imaging modalities, which may include stereotactic and breast MRI. Mammographer's are expected to perform screening and diagnostic procedures in a fast pace environment. Need to exercise critical thinking skills, be able to troubleshoot, and be able to manage stress. Must be able to work well with others and have effective communication skills. Technologists follow the direction of Breast Center Radiologist and established procedures/protocols. Shifts are spent with extensive time on their feet and standing. When performing exams, technologist must adhere to all radiation safety precautions. Technologist must be available to complete exams at the main facility (HBC), detached facilities and outreach settings. Technologist is responsible for their quality of images, positioning skills, and the basic knowledge of quality control tests.

Qualifications

Preferred Job Requirements:
  • 1 year experience in screening and diagnostic procedures
  • Experience in performing QC tests
  • Basic knowledge of stereotactic biopsies
  • Associate Degree or Certificate required from a CAHEA approved Radiological Technology Program
  • Mammo registry
  • ARRT Certification in Radiological Technology
  • Texas Department of Health License
  • CPR
