Position Objective: CDC's Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) is a metadata platform that contains an inventory of CDC's most important data assets, an exploratory search engine that provide results relevant to CDC work and research, and a communal space to encourage collaboration amongst CDC staff and researchers. DMAC support for EDC will facilitate cataloging of CDC's programs most valuable datasets to speed up discoverability and access to critical data in times of emergency response, help leadership take inventory of their C/I/O's and program's data assets to inform key decisions, and provide tools and resources which will assist CDC staff in finding relevant data to enrich their analysis and research.
Seeking a writer for the STPB support team. This person will drive the successful execution of writing projects and ensure that written materials for the branch are streamlined with organizational documentation. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of exceptional writing skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Basic Qualifications:
PhD w/ 2+ years of relevant experience; or
Master's degree w/ 3+ years of relevant experience; or
Bachelor's degree w/ 5+ years of relevant experience; or
Associate's degree w/ 6+ years of relevant experience; or
No degree w/ 10+ years of relevant experience

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft communications materials, including Mission, Vision Statements, Goals, Gap Analysis documentation, SWOT Analysis, Roles and Responsibility documents, Standard Operating Procedure, Communication Plans, Training Material, etc, quickly and on tight deadlines.
- Review and edit all outbound documentation materials for content, spelling, style, format, and grammar.
- Ensure that documentation is inclusive and accessible for diverse audiences, including adherence to best practices for cultural competency and accessibility.
- Build and maintain a content calendar for outbound communications materials and coordinate with other teams across Climate Power.
- Coordinate with Climate Power's research team to perform research and fact-checking.
- Provide guidance to other staff members on writing conventions and style.
- Work with the Managing Director of Communications and the full team to write and edit communications materials.

- Minimum Education Requirements:
PhD w/ 2+ years of relevant experience; or

Associate's degree w/ 6+ years of relevant experience; or

- 5 years of relevant prior work experience in communications and editing.
- Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Adept at long-form and short-form writing.
- Excellent grasp of grammar and spelling.
- Proven research and fact-checking skills.
- A keen eye for detail and quality writing.
- Organized and meticulous about their work.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with non-technical and technical staff
- Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
