Job Summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is hiring for Management Analyst, Surgery

This role focuses on enhancing department efficiency by analyzing and improving processes, recommending methods for optimal use of resources, and identifying system needs for automation. Responsibilities include documenting requirements, planning equipment layouts and workflows for safety and efficiency, guiding procedural development, creating desktop manuals, and preparing project cost estimates. The position involves managing multiple projects, including scoping, assigning tasks, and training team members on financial data analysis, while also developing and implementing project strategies to meet financial goals.

Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management information systems, or related field and five (5) years' experience in performing analysis of automated procedures and designing procedure manuals to support transaction processing.
Job Duties
  • Conducts analysis to ascertain the most efficient, effective and productive processes to accomplish department goals and objectives.
  • Recommends methods to ensure maximum utilization of facilities and human resources. Identifies systems specifications and/or technical changes to procedures for transition and/or development of automated processes.
  • Documents business and systems requirements of departments for use in development of processes and systems.
  • Plans equipment layout, work flow, and other measures (e.g. accident prevention measures) to maintain efficient and safe utilization of department. Provides guidance in procedural development process to department administration.
  • Develops desktop procedure manuals and process controls to ensure effective transaction processing.
  • Prepares cost estimates for assigned projects.
  • Manages multiple projects determining project scope, assigning, monitoring and directing the work responsibilities of other project team members, teaching/training team members techniques on financial data analysis, develops project plan strategy and implements the work plan to achieve financial goals.
  • Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
