Summary

Assists manager in supervising personnel and overseeing the daily operations of an out-patient and hospital-based cardiovascular department. Helps to recommend and implement policies and procedures. Understands and follows human resources and health system policies and procedures. Assists manager in hiring, orienting, developing, coaching, counseling, and terminating of employees. Helps to supervise a staff of professionals and non-professionals within Cardiovascular Services. Perform pediatric echoes as needed to support cardiovascular department. Coordinate equipment maintenance needs and quality control (DNV) activities specific to the department. Maintain performance improvement on diagnostic imaging and intervention-based procedures (IAC). Observes activities of staff and provides input for competency evaluations, and assists in the performance of staff evaluations as assigned by the department manager. Helps to mentor staff in their development. As appropriate and when needed, performs in the capacity of staff. May represent the department and/or manager on campus committees and meetings as designated. Required to be on administrative call as needed. Acts as the designated department leader or representative in the absence of the manager. Performs those functions and duties delegated by the manager. Assumes other roles and responsibilities as assigned by manager.
