Position Summary

As the Clinical Pharmacist Manager at Empower, you will be at the forefront of leading our Clinical Pharmacist team within the Customer Service department. Your leadership will be vital in ensuring the team delivers exceptional customer service, adheres to all regulatory and compliance guidelines, meets service level expectations, and achieves department metrics. By maintaining compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations, you will play a crucial role in upholding Empower's high standards of quality and service.

Your responsibilities will encompass identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and drive performance, developing, and maintaining work instructions and standard operating procedures, and ensuring the effective delivery of initial and ongoing training to the team. In addition to overseeing the team's workload and ensuring timely completion of both backlog and new work, you will participate in the investigation and resolution of product inquiries and complaints.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the Clinical Pharmacist team within the Customer Service department, ensuring they deliver outstanding customer service, adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines, meet service level expectations, and achieve department metrics.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and drive performance.
  • Develops and maintains work instructions and standard operating procedures within the department.
  • Ensures initial and ongoing training is delivered to our team.
  • Implements, enforces, and adjusts team and department metrics as needed.
  • Prepares and distributes daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reports on department performance to the Director.
  • Reviews staffing recommendations from workforce management and partners with recruiting to maintain proper staffing levels.
  • Monitors proper licensing of department employees.
  • Oversees workload for team and monitors completion of backlog and new work.
  • Participates in the investigation and resolution of product inquiries and complaints.
  • Aids the training team with preparation and training for new product launches.
  • Evaluates the appropriateness of dosages, directions, and therapy.
  • Provides feedback on performance to team members regularly.
  • Fosters a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging creativity and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Provides mentorship and professional development opportunities to the team, supporting their growth and success within the organization.
  • Evaluates employee performance, provides feedback and coaching/corrective action as needed. Prepares annual performance evaluations for employees.
  • Stays up to date on knowledge on the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Delivers a high level of customer service both internally and externally.
  • Handles and delegates escalations as needed to ensure a prompt resolution for customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree required.
  • 5 years of related clinical pharmacy experience, including responsibility for handling workflow, resources, quality, and compliance.
  • 2 years' prior experience leading teams preferred.
  • Licensed in Texas (Texas State Board of Pharmacy).
