The Manager, Coding & Data Management will provide management, coordination, and oversight of all aspects related to outpatient coding, and third-party audits.
• Achieve performance targets by actively engaging with various disciplines and departments; appropriately manage people, relationships, and processes to maximize results and engage with internal and external stakeholders. Promote collaboration, teamwork, and champion service excellence.

• Trains, mentors, and educates coding supervisors to assure timely and accurate coding, edit resolution, and denial prevention.

• Monitor and coordinate expenditures during the year with the Director.

• Oversee and maintain vendor communications and relationships for external support staffing, edit resolution, and denial prevention.

• Oversee and maintain compliance with the organizational Corporate Coding Compliance plan, including oversight of job descriptions, procedures, coding references, training, orientation, and continuing education.

• Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures that are consistent with University and hospital policies and procedures.

• Oversee and maintain internal and external quality assurance programs for the coding and edit correction functions.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate coding and charge entry for claim submission.

• Compile and prepare various statistical, production, and benchmarking reports for internal use.

• Research and resolve physician inquiries relating to code assignment and clinical documentation requests and queries.

• Successfully multi-task on a variety of responsibilities, deadlines and projects.

• Other duties as assigned.

Shift

Days - Hours may vary depending on the assigned department needs, Remote position requiring be onsite two days a week.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management or other related health field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Five (5) years of related experience.

Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a directly related health care environment.

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification by AHIMA within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

In-depth experience with and thorough knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding, including assignment of MS-DRGs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with -Cerner, Optum CAC, Athena IDX, Microsoft Teams, Experian, knowledge of WPS

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $78,520 - $127,962 Annually
