The UVA Laboratories has one of the most comprehensive Anatomic Pathology services anywhere, offering routine and esoteric testing in nearly all aspects of surgical pathology and cytology. We are seeking an experienced and motivated candidate to manage our Cytology and administrative support teams.

Our cytology laboratory performs liquid-based PAP smears, Cobas HPV testing, fine needle aspirates, body fluids and consultations. Our busy FNA services continue to grow, creating opportunities for implementing new telepathology technology. Our Anatomic Pathology administrative support team handles all consult cases, interdisciplinary conferences, slide & block filing, sendout testing, incoming phone calls and other critical support functions. This manager will ensure full compliance with regulatory programs and foster collaboration with other lab leaders, faculty partners and staff to achieve quality outcomes, regulatory and billing compliance, effective teamwork and workflow efficiencies while maintaining strong financial performance. A key expectation is fostering collaboration, effective communication and teamwork while supporting the implementation of challenging new initiatives, such as digital pathology and other process improvement initiatives. This manager oversees 15 direct reports and should have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, be focused on patient-centered outcomes and demonstrate the ability to build relationships based on trust and respect.

Position Compensation Range: $81,078.40 - $129,729.60 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree with completion of a NAACLS approved MLS/CLS/HTL or equivalent program.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years of increasing supervisory, managerial and/or leadership experience in a complex health environment required, 4 years preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: MLS/CLS, CT, HTL, ASCP or equivalent. May require a valid Virginia Driver's License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
