Job Requirements
Education

Required

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field such as Security Management, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or related fields

Desired

• Master's degree in the field of emergency management, public administration, and/or homeland security

• Graduate of the National Emergency Management Basic Academy (NEMBA), National Emergency Management Advanced Academy (NEMAA), and or completed full curriculum of the Emergency Management Professional Program (EMPP)

Experience

Required

• Five years of progressively responsible experience in the Emergency Management, disaster preparedness, and security

• Ability to follow complicated oral and written instructions; to evaluate problems and take necessary courses of action leading to workable solutions

Desired

• Familiarity with water/wastewater industry and processes

• Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive risk and vulnerability assessments

• Experience in facility security procedures

• Demonstrated ability to speak in public, communicate orally, and with strong writing skills

Licenses and Certifications Requirements

• Valid driver's license from state of residence

• Must be currently authorized to work for any U.S. employer

• Associate Emergency Manger (AEM), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Certified Protection Professional (CPP)

• Within three months of appointment to the position, must obtain Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) and Norfolk International Terminal (NIT) Clearance, FEMA Emergency Management Professional Program (EMPP) Certifications

• Within twelve months of appointment to the position, must obtain the following training certifications: FEMA ICS 100 • FEMA ICS 700 • FEMA ICS 800 • FEMA Professional Development Series Certificate (PDS) • FEMA Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation (HSEEP)
