Job Summary

Join our team as the Electrical Systems Manager for Electrical Rider Interface technologies. This includes motorcycle instrumentation, infotainment and audio systems. In this position, you will be a department leader responsible for leading the team creating our next-generation electrical systems. You will work cross functionally to drive the motorcycle electrical scope, design, and development, specifically how riders interact with our vehicle electrical systems. You will set clear technical expectations aligned with requirements that exceed customer expectations.

Hybrid Location
Position will be hybrid with time split between a home office and on-site at our Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the team: Coach, guide, mentor, and empower your team to be high performing engineers
  • Enable the development and delivery of premium infotainment, audio systems, instrumentation and HMI for our vehicles
  • Develop the technology roadmap for future infotainment and HMI systems (including rider interactions through hand controls, touch, voice interfaces).
  • Represent electrical engineering stakeholders in cross-functional forums to ensure delivery of a great motorcycle and riding experience
  • Drive well-informed design decisions that balance potentially conflicting derived (system/component) requirements with emphasis on simplification and optimization
  • Ensure the team delivers systems developed in accordance with ISO26262
  • Complete robust verification and validation of hardware and software
  • Approve system and component designs for use in production of motorcycles and accessories

Bachelor's Degree Required

Education Specifications

This position requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, Master's degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of related experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated the following:
  • Success in leading an engineering design and delivery team that meet their quality, cost, timing, and performance objectives, from concept through production launch
  • Knowledge of whole-vehicle systems with detailed electrical system/component design & integration experience
  • Relevant experience developing infotainment components or leading teams in the development of infotainment systems
  • Led/facilitated software design and testing
  • Experience with CAN communication protocols
  • Experience developing artifacts that support product development in accordance with a functional safety process, ISO26262 preferred
  • Example work products include Item Definitions, HARAs, and Functional Safety Requirements
  • Success in directly leading supplier teams to meet aggressive quality and performance objectives
  • Strong interest (direct experience desired) in motor vehicle engineering and design (motorcycle, auto, truck & bus, agriculture, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate technical subjects in a clear, concise manner to multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work with diverse global teams both internally and externally.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
