JOB DESCRIPTION:
POSITION SUMMARY :

The Manager, General Accounting has lead responsibility for managing day-to-day general accounting for the entire company. This includes managing monthly and year-end close, account analyses and reconciliations and closely interfacing with external auditors each quarter end. The Manager will provide staff supervision and interface between central finance and business unit finance leaders as well as plant finance staffs. In this highly visible position, the manager will maintain and establish processes, analytical tools, and controls in the ERP environments to accurately record financial results and report product costs. Responsibilities captioned below are considered essential job functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
  • Plan, organize and direct all activities, policies and procedures for General Accounting functions.
  • Implement, monitoring and be compliant with the Sarbanes-Oxley as well as corporate policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and Report existing or potential accounting and tax risks in company operations.
  • Assist in preparation of the financial records in accordance with local accounting methodology and company policies within the financial accounting software - AS400.
  • Perform key role in the monthly accounting close activities and analysis of results including reporting of results monthly to Bendix
  • Analyze variations in each period s financial results to ensure completeness and accuracy of the reporting.
  • Acts as one of the primary interfaces with the external auditors during the annual audit.
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of account reconciliations.
  • Manage Fixed Asset Accounting
  • Motivation and interest in supporting the business in the implementation of new accounting software.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Perform the account assignment and provide support, direction and assistance to other areas, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS :
  • BS in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7 - 10 years of finance or general accounting experience with manufacturing company.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of general accounting practices and procedures.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to communicate with other team members and management.
  • Ability to complete daily tasks independently based on established procedures.
  • Advanced level Excel, Word, Google apps a plus.
  • Experience in a publicly traded company is a plus.
