Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Manager, Material Management who will lead the Material Management team in the Mission Networks Business Sector, part of the Space and Airbourne Systems Business Segment. This position reports to the Director, Supply Chain and will be located in our Melbourne, FL location with direct reports located in Melbourne, FL and Herndon, VA. It will support both divisions within the Mission Networks Sector (Managed Services and Surveillance & Automation Solutions).

Essential Functions:
  • Manages and leads the Material Management functional areas of Material Planning, Inventory Management, and Logistics in a matrixed business organization and provides both strategic and tactical guidance to effectively execute to business goals and objectives.
  • Provides advanced expertise in support of all aspects of the Supply Chain Strategy, Material Planning, Sourcing, MRP execution and Supplier Performance Mgmt. of highly complex and technical products & services to the Mission Networks business organization.
  • Tasks will include execution of supply chain and business strategies, leading, developing, training, mentoring, and performance management of the 11 direct reports, data analysis, development and training of methods and processes, preparation and review of material and labor estimates for bids and proposals; and utilization of Lean Six Sigma tools and processes to drive operational effectiveness.
  • Emphasis is on leadership and team development.
  • Required coordination of efforts with Mission Networks' Integration Facility and Depot located in Columbus, OH.
  • Collaborates with the Programs and Engineering to determine the appropriate sourcing strategies of new technologies, products or solutions. May function as organization spokesperson on advanced projects or Internal Research & Development (IR&D) projects as the Supply Chain expert or authority.
  • Support Small Business Subcontracting initiatives to achieve annually established FAA Small Business goals and objectives.
  • Communicates project material status/results accurately and concisely to a wide audience, including internal customers and senior management, through collaborative discussions, meetings, presentations, and/or written documentation.
  • Ability to generate presentations and present effectively and professionally to Senior Leadership. Will represent Supply Chain and present to the Mission Networks business leaders and other business leaders as required.
  • Supports preparation and review/approval of labor estimates for Material Management and Procurement requirements (including labor) for bid and proposal efforts in accordance with customer RFP, Statement-of-Work, and other contractual/business requirements.
  • Confers with suppliers to discuss a variety of topics, such as new business pursuit opportunities, supply chain risk areas, performance feedback, issue resolution, fact-finding, VMI approaches, etc.
  • Develops and maintains plans, schedules and budgets for assigned projects. Prepares for periodic management reviews as required to give management visibility on the status and progress of assigned projects.
  • Support Material Management functional objectives for Aged/Excess Inventory, Budgetary Pricing, Requisition release and others.
  • Ability to travel both domestic and international.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Operations/Supply Chain, Finance, or Industrial Engineering, with 9 years of prior related experience, or a Graduate degree (MBA or MS degree), preferably in Business, Operations/Supply Chain, or Finance, with 7 years prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years leadership experience over a functional area, project or program team
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Ability to lead with effective management skills to direct and manage employees to achieve program, project, department and business goals and outcomes while maintaining high levels of employee engagement within the Material Mgmt. team.
  • Ability to lead and manage in a highly matrixed organization which will include direct reports & virtual teams.
  • Advanced knowledge base of supervisor skills and understanding of a manager's role and responsibilities in a Government, Commercial and International Supply Chain and Materials Management regulatory environments.
  • Demonstrate a full understanding of MRP Systems, Inventory Management best practices, Material and Inventory forecasting, Parts Obsolescence Management and knowledge of addressing Cyber Security risks within the Supply Chain.
  • Preferred technical competencies include a full understanding of the CONTROL MRP System (Cincom product), Agile PDM tool, PeopleSoft Financials tool, IT Networks Equipment and Software, Commercial Managed Services business models and be a Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt.
