JOB TITLE: Manager, Materials Management & Inventory Accountability SALARY RANGE: $110,000 - $119,000 HAY POINTS: 519 DEPT/DIV: Procurement, Material Management & Distribution SUPERVISOR: Director, Materials Management & Inventory Accountability LOCATION: 2 Broadway, New York, NY 10004 HOURS OF WORK: 9:00am - 5:30pm
This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

SUMMARY:

This position provides an independent assessment of the operational performance of the warehouse, recommending short term and long-term solutions to enhance group's performance. Functional responsibilities include directing cycle counts, and internal reviews as they relate to material planning, storeroom operations, inventory accountability and budgetary cost controls across all MTA agencies. Manages the daily onsite team responsible for ensuring physical inventory accurately depicts all supply chain systems and data. Roles and responsibilities for material support may be inclusive of all MTA Agencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage accountability program to include audits, cycle counts to verify the inventory accounting accuracy and compliance to the policies and procedures established as they relate to material planning, storeroom operations and inventory accountability.
  • Manage 3 rd Party contractors in field daily, implementing MTA procedures and contractual oversight.
  • Conduct the department's internal control program; interface and serve as liaison for department for both internal and external auditors.

  • Identify excess/obsolete materials to be reviewed by maintenance departments for their approval to be then disposed of in accordance with MTA policies and procedures.

  • Develop reports to monitor accuracy of storeroom group activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Must have knowledge of Warehousing Operations / Business and Supply Chain Systems.
  • Must have knowledge of visualization tools, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
  • Must have excellent Microsoft suite skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with key internal and/or external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete short- and long-term projects effectively and as efficiently as possible.
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities and quantitative skills.
  • Demonstrate independent initiative, leadership, and management skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Public Policy, Industrial engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree; and
  • Minimum 4 years related experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and/or leadership abilities.

Preferred
  • An advanced degree in a related field.
  • Familiarity with the MTA's policies and procedures.
  • Experience with the following systems:
  • PeopleSoft
  • Commodity Management Systems (CMS)
  • Talon / Materials Management System (MMS)
  • Planner Initiated Expediting System (PIES)
  • Logical Inventory Management System (LIMS)
  • Maximo
