The MedTech EPI-RWDS team provides analytical capabilities using large administrative, patient-level databases to answer a variety of questions related to safety, product development, health outcomes research, and other clinical or commercial activities. These may involve analysis of comparative effectiveness, disease burden, standard of care, cost/reimbursement patterns, market size, site of care, and clinical/health economic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

The Manager, MedTech EPI-RWDS will perform the following responsibilities for the MedTech sector:

  • Lead and contribute to the design of observational database analysis, including authoring protocols and analysis plans in support of real-world evidence (RWE) needs for the Cardiovascular and Specialty Solutions (CSS) franchise.
  • Lead the synthesis of evidence from observational database analyses with other evidence to inform medical decision-making, including authoring publications and presentations.
  • Work closely with colleagues within the department and across the larger cross-sector Epidemiology function, health economics and market access (HEMA) function, and Interventional MedTech business.
  • Implement new approaches for working with "big data" in healthcare. Some tasks may include data visualization, predictive analytics and machine learning algorithms.
  • The position will report to the Senior Director, MD EPI-RWDS.


Qualifications

  • A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree or equivalent in biostatistics, health services & outcomes research, epidemiology or other healthcare-related field with a minimum of 2 years of epidemiology or related research experience in an industry setting is required.


OR

  • A Masters Degree or equivalent in biostatistics, health services & outcomes research, epidemiology or other healthcare-related field with a minimum of 4 years of epidemiology or related research experience in an industry setting is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare databases, registries, statistical analysis, and other related analytical methodology is required.
  • A sophisticated understanding and the ability to analyze and interpret quantitative data is required.
  • Experience with writing methods sections of study proposals and protocols is required.
  • Experience authoring peer-reviewed publications and presenting in national/international healthcare conferences using results from real-world datasets is required.
  • Experience in cross-functional partnering is required.
  • MedTech/Medical Device industry experience is preferred.
  • This position may require up to approximately 10% of domestic and international travel.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $113,000 to $195,500. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

    • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
