As a Manager of Environmental, Health and Safety specializing in Environmental Compliance, this role leads and manages SHE programs, compliance, and results for a specific business, facility, or region. This role may also spearhead a key program or Center of Excellence. The manager collaborates with leaders to identify SHE priorities and programs for the managed area, including performance metrics, communication, and change management. The manager implements corporate, regional, or divisional policies and programs, and provides feedback regarding necessary changes for local compliance, communication, or business relevance in the environmental sphere. They develop specific programs for locations or business groups to address local needs. The manager ensures that required monitoring of operations or industrial exposures is in place and provides technical leadership and functional guidance for SHE risks and outcomes.

What You Will Do:
  • Support for North America Logistics sites in environmental compliance: The manager provides guidance and support to all North America sites to ensure they meet environmental compliance standards. This includes implementing and monitoring SHE programs, conducting regular audits, and addressing any findings to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinates ECAP and other audits of the managed area and collaborates with leadership to ensure findings are addressed.
  • Stay informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations and ensure compliance in managed areas.
  • Provides local regulatory reporting if required and ensures that leading and lagging SHE metrics are collected.
  • Reports to NA SHE Manager for the EC3: The manager reports directly to the North America SHE Manager for the EC3. This ensures a clear line of communication and accountability.
  • Interfaces with Corporate ESG and Environmental policies to drive compliance both internally and externally: The manager works closely with Corporate ESG and Environmental policies.
  • Build strategies for managing environmental waste (hazardous and non-hazardous): The manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for managing both hazardous and non-hazardous waste. This includes ensuring proper treatment, storage, and disposal of waste in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Uphold compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations including but not limited to CWA, CAA, EPCRA, TSCA, RCRA, OPA, CERCLA, and SARA.
  • Manage all data mandated by environmental permits or regulations, and prepare and submit all related reports through integrated Ecolab systems.
  • Supervise facilities infrastructure projects in relation to compliance with federal, state, and local air, water, and waste regulations.
  • Coordinate with consultants to ensure environmental projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory interface at all levels to guarantee program compliance with multiple state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct technical analysis of environmental data to support corporate environmental metrics or agency (federal, state, local) reporting. Establish procedures to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Prepare and/or deliver environmental training programs in collaboration with Ecolab University.
  • Participate in Ecolab's environmental audit program. Document and track corrective action. Manage corrective action measures in response to external agencies. Coordinate internal and external EMS audit programs and registration audits.
  • Oversee the integration of environmental software solutions to enhance business performance.
  • Implement and maintain programs and associated documentation to promote continuous improvement of the EMS in line with the requirements of ISO 14001. Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001-based EMS.
  • Manage and participate in the Sustainability Program. Complete data collection/manipulation to support sustainability goals.
  • Coordinate spill response programs.
  • Assist on Safety and SMS related projects, questions, processes.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree
  • 5 years of related experience
  • 30% travel : The role requires 30% travel to various sites across North America. This allows the manager to conduct on-site inspections, audits, and provide hands-on support where needed


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering, environmental, health, occupation health or a related field
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and implement programs and processes
  • English proficiency plus local language fluency
