The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County's most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. Job Summary

Join us at the Orange County Department of Education and take the helm as our Manager; Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations. In this dynamic role, you'll lead, supervise, and coordinate a diverse range of services and activities crucial to the smooth operation of our facilities. From strategic planning to seamless coordination with internal and external stakeholders, your contributions will be integral to our mission of providing top-tier educational environments. This position will be based in Costa Mesa and may require work in the evenings and on weekends as needed.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience: Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way of obtaining the knowledge and abilities would be: Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in facility maintenance and operations, public administration, or related field. Experience: Four years of responsible facility maintenance and operations experience including at least one year of management experience.
