MANAGER OF WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS

CHICAGO DEPARTMENT OF AVIATION

Starting Salary: $80,628; Grade: BX-17

Under direction, manages and coordinates the operations of a city warehouse for the Department of Aviation, and performs related duties as required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Manage and supervise all personnel at the Warehouse, including the Ground Laborers and MTD on STO 3 (Warehouse delivery truck).

• Manage inventory for accuracy, availability, obsolescence and replenishment. Including stock items, non-stock items, furniture, and records management/archives.

• Ensure that all materials are delivered in a timely manner to maintain daily operations at O'Hare International Airport.

• Maintain accountability/accuracy on all transactions: Purchasing, receipts, and issues. Adhere to the prompt payment initiative.

• Manage and utilize contracts for the procurement of materials (using FMS and corresponding with the Contract Section and DPS).

• Log/Data-entry of all PO's, receipts, issues, and payments into FMS (CDA purchasing program) and City works inventory program.

• Maintain all Records Management inventor. Oversee the transfer of all CDA records to R4 Services (records management vendor).

• Meet with the user sections to ensure proper inventory and replenishment levels are kept and updated.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

• Participate on committees that affect Warehouse Operations.

Location : 11601 West Touhy, Building 891, Chicago, IL 60666

Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday

There may be a need to work late hours and some weekends due to operational needs.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Four years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in inventory control and warehouse management.
