Shift/Hours: Monday - Thursday, (2:00 PM - 12:00 AM)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Youth Care Managers report to the Director of Placement Stability and enjoy a high degree of autonomy in the supervision of Youth Care Specialists and Coordination of day respite, after hour's placements, transportation, and supervision of youth, both new referrals and youth transitioning between placements. This position ensures coverage of the after-hours emergency line, triaging incoming calls, problem-solving, and assigning tasks including but not limited to assisting with missing youth search efforts, assisting with diligent parent searches, organizing the clothing closet, restocking supplies, creating orange books, sanitizing stations, identifying, labeling, and storing the personal items of youth, creating facility books, grocery shopping, completing laundry, conducting safety checks on car seats, and deep cleaning. The position is responsible for supervising staff in medication administration and other medical support. At times when there is no youth to supervise, the Youth Care Manager will perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, report writing, data reconciliation, chart audits, and other duties as assigned. The Youth Care Manager is responsible for the development of staff through training and coaching.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Education, Counseling, or Psychology which includes the equivalent of 30 semester hours in either human development/human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques such as social work, psychology, sociology, guidance/counseling, and child development, and at least two years of work experience in the Child Welfare arena. 1 year of Kansas case management experience is required. Preferred: Master's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Education, Counseling, or Psychology and two years experience in the child welfare arena with at least 6 months of Kansas case management experience. Licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to practice in Kansas (LBSW, LMSW, LSCSW, Professional Counselor, LMFT, and/or Alcohol and Drug Counselor). Must be at least 21 years of age and pass a background check, physical, and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance.
