What to Expect

This role will manage the development and implementation of operational compliance controls (both manual and system related) throughout the organization. The Operations Compliance Manager will work with operational departments to define risks, develop controls, perform root cause analysis of issues, and recommend remediation. Additionally, this role will develop a risk mitigation strategy regarding implementation of an operational control structure as it relates to all operational departments within HCA. The Operations Compliance Manager will work closely with all operational team leads, front line employees and compliance staff to ensure operational controls are in place as required by federal, state, corporate and investor based requirements. This role will work closely with operational assurance teams in developing first line of defense controls and in ensuring the effectiveness of these operational controls (manual or system based). This role will work closely with compliance management to ensure examination and internal/external audit findings are appropriately addressed within the current operational control framework. This position must be an effective leader capable of managing, motivating, developing and supporting a support staff and be responsible for providing visibility to executive management regarding development status of control structure and evidence of effectiveness. To accomplish these objectives, this individual will need to work closely with various levels of management, personnel and external business partners located in multiple geographic locations. The Operations Compliance Manager will also require an understanding of the captive finance industry and have a strong operational background within that industry.

What You Will Do

1. Ensures business processes are adhering to all corporate, state and regulatory guidelines as well as applicable policies and procedures. Initiate projects, as needed, to implement needed compliance controls and pursue remediation efforts to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and corporate requirements.

2. Develop and execute effective and efficient processes to ensure control validations and testing results are produced accurately and timely. Assists operational teams in determining risk potential and recommending appropriate mitigating controls. Proactively seeks and maintains a working knowledge of select processes within the captive finance industry thus allowing the ability to understand and facilitate remediation efforts.

3. Ensure control validation and testing results are quality controlled, finalized, and posted to appropriate executive reports in a timely fashion.

4. Seek, develop and facilitate a strong working relationship with business partners through ongoing coordination of operational matters and utilizing effective communication and, when warranted, conflict and resolution skills.

5. Provide staff with annual goals and objectives, while incorporating the goals of the broader Corporate Compliance and Governance team; then perform consistent reviews to ensure staff is managed by objectives. Assign and oversee staff working on ad hoc projects, such as examinations or investigations.

Qualifications

What You Will Bring

• 10-15 years operational experience in the captive finance industry or equivalentEducational Requirements: BA or BS degree

• Educational Requirements: BA or BS degree

• Problem solves at a higher level and exercises authority, within limits, using prudent judgment to ensure corporate strategy and regulatory requirements are equally met but not compromised.

• Strong leadership and relationship building skills with the ability to network

• Ability to quickly comprehend information from oral and written documentation

• Occasional travel is required (10%-30%)

• Excellent Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio) skills preferred

• Able to perform multiple tasks, with varying levels of complexity, importance and involvement

• Excellent written/verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Must exhibit a keen attention to detail

Work Environment

Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.

The posted salary range for this job takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. Successful candidates may be hired anywhere in the salary range based on these factors. It is uncommon to hire candidates at or near the top of the range.
