The Manager of Ortho Tech over sees the Ortho Tech Services ensuring compliance with standards set by the Joint Commission (TJC) and other relevant regulatory bodies. This role encompasses fiscal, budgetary, and administrative oversight of the assigned departments. Additionally, the manager is proficient in interviewing, hiring, scheduling, assigning tasks, and evaluating the performance of supervised employees. They are committed to executing job responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

  • Provide operational leadership and direct supervision of staff across all Ortho Tech Services to ensure consistent and comprehensive patient care services.
  • Provides clinical oversight and supervision for assigned staff to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies across the system and manages day-to-day operations of the staff including quality and fiscal processes.
  • Demonstrates the level of expertise required for monitoring all departmental functions including scheduling, staffing, coordinating work flow, resolution of operational concerns and serves as a first line resource for personnel and technical issues.
  • Proficient in services provided by Ortho Techs, including but not limited to, application and removal of casts, splints, braces, traction, overhead suspensions, and continuous Passive Motion CPM)


Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitie

  • Demonstration of knowledge pertaining to laws and regulations, ethics and guidelines governing the discipline of PT, OT, SLP.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple, and often competing responsibilities in an efficient manner.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a high degree of integrity, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required to interact with internal and external constituents.
  • Proficient in PC operations and the ability to use MS Office and other systems.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Four (4) years of experience as an Ortho Tech in an acute hospital / OP medical clinic setting, including a minimum of two years supervisory experience required.
  • ASOP Registered Orthopedic Technologist Certification
