Your Role
As the Manager, People Services, you'll provide human resources leadership and strategic partnership to associates and leaders across diverse functional areas of NMG which include the Customer Care center, the Facilities Maintenance teams operating within our 37 Neiman Marcus stores and 4 Distribution Centers, and our Logistics, Imports and Automation groups that support the NMG Supply Chain operations.
You will directly lead and supervise two (2) People Services Generalists. You will champion NMG's Power of One People Strategy and activate people-related initiatives across your areas of responsibility at NMG. You will be a steward of our culture of Belonging and our purpose to Lead With Love. As an agile business partner, you will stay current with business priorities and translate them into people insights and action plans. You will report on, plan, and execute human resources processes that impact the associate lifecycle from hire to departure. These include activities such as onboarding, coaching, performance management, associate relations, talent reviews, compensation and policy interpretation. You will work with your peers on the Supply Chain and Group Operations People Services team, and maintain partner relationships with other PSBPs across NMG and our Centers of Excellence. You'll report to the Director, People Services and work remotely.
What You'll Do
• Motivate, inform, coach, and lead your team to success
• Build strong relationships with the business leaders you support and maintain business acumen
• Drive People Services initiatives from delivery to adoption, join and lead projects and workstreams that continue to help the People Services function "work smarter" and in turn help deliver company goals
• Provide HR expertise to leaders to facilitate a culture of continuous improvement and a growth mindset, and empower them with people data analytics to support their business
• Conduct internal investigations as needed, train and assist business leaders with coaching and counseling, participate/execute employment actions as needed
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to action plan, define searches, and deliver on recruitment goals (both quantitative and qualitative)
• Ensure completion of compliance trainings, identify other training opportunities and strategically gather partners and resources to address them
• Facilitate leader onboardings and exits, and oversee unemployment claims and hearings
• Oversee proper application of our leaves and accommodations programs, and partner with risk management and loss prevention partners to action on incidents and any related worker's compensation cases
• Upkeep associate records, and ensure and maintain compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations
What You Bring
• Minimum (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience
• HR Business Partner experience in fulfillment/distribution and/or luxury retail environments preferred
• Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of employment law (HR certification or continuous HR education program attendance is a plus)
• Passionate about people, demonstrating a collaborative and empathetic approach
• Excellent communication (all channels), mediation and negotiation skills, including the ability to clearly explain and get buy-in on complex analyses or topics with diverse audiences
• Critical thinking, analytical, and creative skills to identify areas of opportunity, and find new solutions to challenges
• Excellent emotional intelligence and sound judgment to lead difficult conversations, and recommend/execute potential employment actions
• Commitment to trust and confidentiality, drive and confidence to challenge others appropriately, and uphold high moral and ethical standards
• Ability to quickly adapt to unexpected situations, and excellent organizational and prioritization abilities to manage multiple competing priorities
• Office 365 Suite (Intermediate Excel preferred), HRIS and ATS software experience
