Responsibilities

As the Radiology Manager, you play a pivotal role in steering the radiology department's daily operations. Your primary focus is on elevating patient care, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and optimizing resource management. You are a cornerstone of the team, setting the standard for excellence and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Excellence: Partner closely with the Director to manage and streamline daily operations, guaranteeing that all diagnostic radiological procedures are executed promptly and in strict accordance with physician orders and patient prescriptions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead by example, serving as a role model for the team. Inspire and guide radiology technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes the safe and accurate delivery of patient care.
  • Patient Care: Deliver exceptional patient care by performing radiological procedures with precision and speed. Assess patient conditions to ensure the accurate execution of exams and provide clear explanations to patients about their procedures and expected cooperation.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that all clinical equipment and supplies are available, operational, and utilized safely. Proactively manage departmental resources to maintain a high standard of care.
  • Cross-Training and Flexibility: Be prepared to cross-train in various modalities, demonstrating versatility and a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability within the department.
  • Performance Improvement: Drive departmental excellence through Performance Improvement initiatives. Conduct satisfaction surveys for patients, physicians, and staff, and implement corrective actions to address identified issues.
  • Staffing and Competency: Assess and recommend staffing needs to ensure quality patient care. Evaluate and verify the qualifications and competence of department personnel, ensuring a skilled and effective team.
  • Comprehensive Care: Provide thorough, direct patient care, creating a safe and comforting environment. Collaborate with other staff to meet the needs of patients and their families, ensuring all aspects of care are addressed.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of radiological procedures and equipment.
  • Proficiency in federal and state regulations pertaining to radiology.
  • Ability to manage and lead a diverse team effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education: Graduated from an accredited radiology program. BS preferred.

Licensure/ Certification: Current state certification and current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification. Current BLS certification.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years as a Radiology Technologist with knowledge of multiple modalities required. Minimum of one (1) year recent supervisory experience preferred.

Working Knowledge: Performs at a proficient level all radiology procedures and other tasks needed within the radiology department. Can operate all of the radiology equipment and the PACS System in a safe and appropriate manner. Capable of performing the necessary functions on OHH's computer system.

Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Can manipulate the patient's position and the radiology equipment to perform high quality images. Capable of sending high quality images from the radiology equipment to the PACS System and completing the exams in the Cerner Computer System.
